Absolutly loving this game....it took me maybe about 6 restarts to get the hang of how this game works but its awesome! I am writing this review for the fact that i have an experience in playing somthing similar... back in my 8 bit pixel age i have managed to get my hands on the pack of old games and for the reason of playing an old indiana jones adventure game when the movie was out... thing is that the games name was similar to the game i wanna talk about and that name was just Mr.Jones and it was next to my indiana games... i automaticly assumed its one of the parts of indiana jones but it wasnt... surprisingly addictive Mr.Jones was a boom for me becose i even invited my friends over to see if thay have played this game and we had so much fun becose the game was EXACTLY same thing as yours with one little difference... even tho it didnt have this many jobs and wierd encounters it was a real challange to beat the AI... now thats where i am coming from. in your game there is no competition... i should be able to have AI opponent with a task of become a milionare and to be able to set its difficulty... also i should be able to set up a 2nd player and make a turn based challange... Another crucial part of your game and a massive differnce makes getting home in time.. which has to be done before the time to go to sleep... if not... you are losing 1/4 of a day becose you slept over... in Mr.Jones the AI on easy setting didnt have a clue how to sort the day out to be more profiting then yours and on a highest dificulty it just kept using bank to buy cheap and sell dearer for profit to overrun your "getting a better job" strategy so i would love to see the AI be more advanced than that... I am sorry but for that reason the game didnt impress me... well at least not like the old MR.Jonesthumbs up for a new job content and servises.. and you also need to make home more visually interactive with the player as in the old game you were able to see your appartment and new things added from the supermart...I am not gonna recommend this game to nobody becose the games really should go forwards and not backwards with evolution. Good game nice and passive, I would strongly recomend some my dynamics to the business managment of the game for instance having General managers, Regional managers, Distric managers and even Executives in large enough companies also I recomend allowing to chain businesses together to allow larger businesses to be built. Possibly Allow your company to go public , Another dynamic that would create more color is if when hiring employees you had to hire for specific positions that already exist in the job market.. Like this game, the mods and addition of occupations and social functions really added more replayability of this game. As I was a big fan of bigfish's Life Quest, or similar "life" simulation game, this game is pretty much quite an updated version of this genre. The downside would probably be the lack of animation. Eg: some life simulation games have animation of when the character is doing the task, it would probably enhance the whole graphic. But functionality wise, this is quite good. Just hoping the author can add more and more maps or various occupations, businesses, houses, etc. For the time being, I think mods are filling this gap pretty well so far.
